Die Österreichische Zeitschrift für Geschichtswissenschaften (OeZG) besteht seit 1990. Sie veröffentlicht insbesondere Forschungsbeiträge zur Frauen- und Geschlechtergeschichte, Kulturgeschichte, Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Politikgeschichte sowie Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte. Wissenschaftskonzepte, Theorien und Forschungsmethoden werden in den Aufsätzen wie auch in Gesprächen mit Forscher*innen, in Werkstattberichten aus laufenden Projekten und in Review-Essays diskutiert. Die OeZG erscheint dreimal im Jahr, meist in Themenbänden, gelegentlich auch in thematisch offenen Heften. Ihre Stärke ist es, theoretisch und methodisch innovative Zugänge mit historisch relevanten Themenstellungen zu verbinden.
