Editada por el Centro de Estudios Demográficos (CEDEM), de la Universidad de La Habana, en Cuba, Novedades en Población es una revista especializada en temas relacionados con la demografía y los estudios de población. Tiene como objetivo actualizar a la comunidad científica y a todas las personas e instituciones interesadas sobre los últimos avances en estos campos. Es una revista certificada por el Ministerio de Ciencia Tecnología y Medioambiente (CITMA) de Cuba. Su proceso editorial está a cargo del Sello Editorial CEDEM. Su perfil temático incluye análisis y estudios en torno a la fecundidad, la mortalidad, las migraciones (internas e internacionales), las familias, el envejecimiento, el medioambiente, los recursos laborales, las relaciones de género y las políticas de población, entre otros asuntos que tributan al análisis de la relación entre la población y el desarrollo sostenible.
