Wir wollen frei von irgendwelchen Einflüssen und Einflüsterungen gleich welcher Art dafür sorgen, dass sich Versorgungsforschung zu einer Versorgungsforschungswissenschaft fortentwickelt – zu Wohle aller Patient:innen. Darum will „Monitor Versorgungsforschung“ den Link zwischen Versorgungsforschung, Versorgungsmanagement, Wissenschaft und Politik schaffen, in dem sich auf wissenschaftlicher Ebene Versorgungsforscher austauschen, in der aber im redaktionellen Bereich all diejenigen angesprochen werden, die dem Thema der Versorgungsforschung eher als Anwender oder als Beauftragende begegnen – ob auf Kassen-, Politik- oder auch Industrieseite.
