نشریه متافیزیک دانشگاه اصفهان در حوزه مابعدالطبیعه فعالیت می کند ، بنابراین اولویت آن انتشار مقالاتی در زمینه مسائل و موضوعات مطروحه در مابعدالطبیعه است. البته هر مقاله ای در سایر حوزه های فلسفه مانند زیباشناسی، اخلاق، فلسفه علم یا زبان و ذهن که جنبه ای مابعدالطبیعی داشته باشد نیز می تواند در راستای اهداف مجله قرار گیرد. لازم به ذکر است حوزه موضوعات به فلسفه غرب محدود نمی شود و تفاوتی در دریافت مقالات در حوزه فلسفه اسلامی و فلسفه غرب ( یا فلسفه یونان باستان و دوران مدرن ) وجود ندارد.
