One of the primary duties of universities is to enhance the educational and cultural level of society in line with the common good. In fulfilling this fundamental mission, the construction, development, preservation, and accurate transmission of the scientific heritage to future generations emerges as a significant subsidiary responsibility that universities must uphold. In this context, the Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU SOBED) has, since 2009, aimed to present articles in the field of social sciences to its readers following a rigorous peer-review and editorial process. One of the fundamental missions of universities is to enhance the educational and cultural level of society in line with the public interest. Within the framework of this mission, the production, development, preservation, and effective transmission of scientific knowledge to future generations constitute the primary responsibilities of universities. Acting with this sense of responsibility, the Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University aims, since 2009, to present original and high-quality academic studies produced in the field of social sciences to the scholarly community, following a rigorous peer-review and editorial evaluation process.The Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University publishes only original research articles and review papers; translation studies and book reviews are excluded from its scope. Among the primary acceptance criteria is that submitted works comply with the principles of scientific ethics and contribute to the literature from a theoretical and/or applied perspective.A very limited number of articles derived from postgraduate theses are accepted. Such submissions are expected to offer original and innovative scientific contributions and to be in accordance with the journal’s scope and publication policies. In this regard, only studies of high academic quality that have been substantially developed from theses into original research articles will be considered.
