Materials for Quantum Technology™ is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to publishing cutting-edge experimental and theoretical research on the development and application of materials for all quantum-enabled technologies and devices. The journal aims to bring together research in materials and quantum technologies and also aims to identify new interdisciplinary research topics that address the needs of those developing quantum technologies for the future. MQT welcomes developments across all aspects of materials research, including design, growth, characterisation, synthesis, processing and device integration. Particular areas of interest include (but are not limited to): Superconductors: new and improved materials for quantum technology using superconductors. Topics include Josephson junctions, hybrid devices, nanofabrication control, low-loss deposition, processing and integration techniques and materials control at interfaces for single photons Semiconductors and Photonics: topics include scaling II-VI and III-V platforms, isotopically pure IV systems, materials for fibre and planar photonic platforms. Optics areas include quantum light sources, photon emission/detection and quantum dots in quantum chips. Solid State Defects: the creation, control, characterisation and properties of colour centres and other defects in crystals, aiming to engineer them for quantum applications. Topics include removal and mitigation of deleterious defects and discovery of new impurity systems. Topology: new advances in applying topology to quantum technologies. Topics include ‘low-loss’ spin and topological systems to mitigate energy losses. Molecular Materials: the synthesis, properties and quantum-technological applications of molecular materials. Materials include organometallic thin films and organic molecular crystals. Topics include monodisperse structures, metal-ion incorporation, extended framework systems, intermolecular interactions and environment tuning. System Level Materials: incorporating various material technologies currently commercially used and applying to new quantum technologies and systems. Including high performance materials for thermal management, environmental isolation and packaging, as well as sustainable materials and technologies for diverse integration of various materials. 2D Materials: the processing, properties and applications of 2D materials in quantum technologies. Materials include graphene, silicene, transition metal dichalcogenid
