Lumen et Virtus apresenta-se, de forma geral, como um fórum permanente de debates sobre a questão da imagem e, de modo específico, sobre a questão da interdisciplinaridade, alinhando-se aos anseios da comunidade acadêmica, interessada no que há de mais inquietante e instigante na área dos estudos universitários. Ao procurar traduzir as bases dessa proposta, a revista procura afirmar sua modernidade, trazendo não só colaboradores de diversas áreas — Administração, Comunicação, Direito, Educação, História, Literatura, Psicologia —, como também provocando um criativo debate entre essas mesmas áreas, por meio do diálogo metódico, como base da investigação. Os artigos aqui reunidos inserem-se, portanto, numa área de pesquisa intimamente ligada ao que há de mais atual na produção do conhecimento e que diz respeito aos estudos interdisciplinares.
