Rocznik „Logopaedica Lodziensia” powołano z myślą szerzenia najnowszych osiągnięć naukowych i praktycznych z zakresu profilaktyki, diagnozy i terapii zaburzeń komunikacji o różnej etiologii. To pismo interdyscyplinarne, łączące logopedię z takimi dyscyplinami nauki, jak językoznawstwo, medycyna, pedagogika czy psychologia. Obok rozpraw i artykułów o charakterze teoretyczno-metodologicznym i pragmatycznym, w „Logopaedica…” zamieszczane są wypowiedzi polemiczne, a także recenzje polskich i zagranicznych publikacji poświęconych problematyce zaburzeń komunikacji językowej. Dzięki temu pismo może realizować swoje cele, do których należą: promowanie najnowszej wiedzy, stwarzanie warunków do wymiany myśli naukowej, jak również przedstawianie wartościowych, innowacyjnych rozwiązań praktycznych z zakresu logopedii i dziedzin pokrewnych.
