Laboratorio de Arte es una revista de investigación fundada en 1988 por el Departamento de Historia del Arte de la Universidad de Sevilla, que la coedita con la Editorial Universidad de Sevilla. Está dedicada al estudio de la Historia del Arte sevillano, andaluz, español e iberoamericano, desde la Antigüedad hasta nuestros días. Laboratorio de Arte se presenta tanto en versión electrónica como en formato impreso, publicándose artículos originales e inéditos caracterizados por su calidad y originalidad, admitiéndose propuestas redactadas en español, inglés, francés, italiano y portugués, aunque el consejo de redacción puede contemplar la posibilidad de aceptar textos en otros idiomas de la Unión Europea. La revista presenta un primer apartado dedicado a los artículos de investigación, los cuales son sometidos a una rigurosa de evaluación de pares ciegos. También tiene otro apartado dedicado a varias, que igualmente tienen el mismo carácter científico, siendo valorada su idoneidad por el consejo editorial de la revista. Y finalmente, la revista también presenta un último apartado reservado a las reseñas de las publicaciones cuyo interés científico también viene avalado por el consejo editorial de la revista. Desde 1988 se viene publicando sin interrupción.
