Журнал «Комплексные исследования детства» является междисциплинарным рецензируемым журналом, публикующим комплексные исследования, относящиеся к детству: теоретические обзоры, экспериментальные исследования детства, методические статьи, направленные на формирование у детей тех или иных психологических качеств. Особенностью журнала является охват всех возрастных периодов, в том числе периода взрослости, если анализируются причины взрослого поведения, идущие из детства. Детство не связывается с определенным регионом мира, а рассматривается как общечеловеческий феномен, понимание которого возможно лишь совместными усилиями специалистов разных направлений (генетика, психофизиология, психология, здоровье, педагогика, социология, философия), теоретиками и практиками, проживающих в разных странах и принадлежащих разным культурам. Приглашаются к публикации статьи, в которых описываются новые теоретические подходы к исследованию и пониманию детства, дискуссионные, но обоснованные.
