A Kitaibelia botanikai-természetvédelmi folyóirat a Pannon Ökorégió (Kárpát-medence) területéről publikál eredeti közleményeket florisztikai, növényföldrajzi, taxonómiai, nevezéktani, társulástani, ökológiai, természetvédelmi botanikai, tudománytörténeti témában. A folyóiratot Molnár V. Attila és Vidéki Róbert alapította 1996-ban. A lap címe Kitaibel Pálnak (1757–1816), a legkiválóbb és legsokoldalúbb magyar botanikusnak igyekszik emléket állítani. A Kitaibelia magyar és angol nyelven közöl cikkeket. A közlemények összefoglalói, az ábrák és táblázatok címei, feliratai kétnyelvűek. A Kitaibelia évente két lapszámot publikál, elektronikusan (ISSN 2064-4507) és nyomtatásban (ISSN 1219-9672). Az elektronikus kiadás cikkei szabadon hozzáférhetők honalpunkon. A nyomtatott kötetek megrendelhetők a szerkesztőségtől. Egy kötet ára 1000 Ft. A folyóiratban megjelenő cikkeket az MTA Könyvtárának Repozitóriuma (REAL) és a Debreceni Egyetem electrinikus Archívuma archiválja.
