Ruang lingkup kajian dalam jurnal ini meliputi berbagai topik yang berkaitan dengan ekonomi Islam, antara lain perbankan syariah, lembaga keuangan syariah, keuangan publik Islam, akuntansi syariah, bisnis dan kewirausahaan syariah, industri halal, zakat dan wakaf, ekonomi pembangunan Islam, serta isu-isu kontemporer yang berkaitan dengan sistem ekonomi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. JIEI menerima artikel berupa hasil penelitian empiris, kajian konseptual, maupun artikel telaah pustaka yang memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan teori dan praktik ekonomi Islam. Setiap artikel yang diterbitkan melalui proses peer review untuk memastikan kualitas akademik dan integritas ilmiah dari setiap naskah yang dipublikasikan.
