Jurnal Asia Pacific Studies (JAPS) is published twice a year, every June and December. JAPS is founded and managed by International Relations Study Program of Universitas Kristen Indonesia with the purpose to provide access to high quality, open access and peer-reviewed journals. All articles will be subject to anonymous peer review, and will be evaluated on the basis of originality, novelty and relevance of the finding to JAPS' mission. JAPS focused on three key topics. Firstly, JAPS discussed the development of the synergy between the theories of International Relations (IR) and regional studies of Asia Pacific. There is a gap between IR theoretical discussion with issues and problems within the Asia Pacific regions. Asia Pacific is a host of great powers, world trade champions and a vast breadth of socio-cultural diversity. However, Asia Pacific region also has many potential and recurring problems starting from environmental crisis, arms race, extremism and radicalism. This offers opportunities for scholars to publish articles regarding the application and critical evaluation of IR theories with the development and the dynamics of these regional issues. Secondly, JAPS can also be a tool for IR scholars to create and develop new concepts based on regional perspective. There is an urgent need to reformulate many important concepts include (but not limited to): war, humanitarian intervention, human security, diplomacy, sustainable development, global governance, regional and international organization. Lastly, JAPS is an academic arena for debating and discussing phenomenons and crucial issues in Asia Pacific. In a complex and interdependent world, APS are eager to produce valuable insights and recommendation in dealing with specific issues such as South China Sea dispute, migrant workers or transboundary haze.
