Typical contributors to Journalistica are journalism, communication, and media researchers, but also political scientists, sociologists, ethnologists, historians, linguists, and rhetoricians. Journalistica accepts original manuscripts with relevance to media and journalism in the Nordic countries. Manuscripts must not have been published in or submitted to other journals or publications. Journalistica accepts submissions in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and English. Journalistica publishes both special issues and issues without a thematic focus. From 2022, accepted articles are published directly after copy-editing ("online first"). Journalistica is registered as a Category 1 journal in the Danish (BFI), Norwegian (NPI), and Finnish (Publikationsforum) Bibliometric System and indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and SherpaRomeo.
