Enfoque y alcance AECIT, creada en 1994, tiene entre sus cometidos como asociación de expertos científicos en turismo, la divulgación de contenidos rigurosos en torno al turismo y el ocio. Por esta razón, se decidió en 2006 promover una publicación semestral en castellano, que incluya investigaciones realizadas por sus miembros y otros expertos, investigadores y docentes que reflejen las innovaciones que se llevan a cabo en el sector y cooperen al análisis riguroso de los temas. De este modo, se pretende ofrecer a la comunidad científica una muestra periódica del esfuerzo realizado por parte de los expertos y ofrecer a la comunidad académica de un nuevo vehículo científico. Revista de Análisis Turístico, es una publicación científica de ciencias sociales de carácter internacional, cuyo objetivo es contribuir a la comprensión del turismo desde un punto de vista transversal y multidisciplinar, con toda su complejidad y cambios constantes. Además la revista aspira a contribuir a la construcción de un conocimiento de calidad en aspectos teóricos-conceptuales, metodológicos y en los avances en su aplicación desde un enfoque integrador y también crítico.Esta publicación pretende ser un foro de intercambio científico para la transferencia de conocimiento a las universidades, institutos de investigación, administraciones públicas, organismos internacionales y al universo profesional.Sus líneas temáticas se centran en la economía, marketing, empresa, geografía, patrimonio, política, derecho y tecnologías aplicadas al turismo. A su vez se tiene en cuenta temáticas transversales: medio ambiente, urbanismo, formación, gestión, planificación, imagen, sostenibilidad, innovación Proceso de evaluación por pares Los artículos publicados en la Revista de Análisis Turístico se revisan inicialmente por el Editor para evaluar si se ajustan a la política editorial y normas de redacción establecidas. Cumplido este trámite, los trabajos se someten a un proceso de evaluación ciega por pares, en el que los evaluadores pueden ser miembros del Comité de Redacción, del Comité Científico de la revista o expertos de reconocido prestigio en el ámbito del turismo. El anonimato se garantiza enviando a evaluación los documentos sin nombres de autores y ni referencias a trabajos personales de estos. Los revisores emiten un “informe de evaluación” facilitado por la Secretaría de Redacción de la revista que, también de forma anónima, es enviado a los autores del artículo sometido a evaluación,
