Objectives: Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship The Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship (JSBE) is a premier, bilingual, double-blind, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing research on entrepreneurship and small business. Our mission is to publish original, high-impact scholarship that deepens theoretical understanding and challenges established paradigms. A Global Scholarly Community JSBE is defined by its international orientation. We bridge geographic and cultural divides by: Diverse Contexts: Inviting studies set in a variety of international contexts, including comparative studies. Inclusive Authorship: Actively welcoming contributions from a diverse, international pool of scholars. Global Audience: Serving a community of researchers, policymakers, and practitioners who seek a global perspective on small-business challenges. Core Areas of Focus We welcome rigorous and diverse methodological approaches that advance current knowledge: Theoretical Contributions: Papers that develop new frameworks or critically re-examine existing theories. Empirical Research: Rigorous qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods studies that offer actionable insights. Emerging Trends: We prioritize research addressing modern shifts, including digital transformation, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable scaling. Theory-Driven Case Studies JSBE views the case study as a vital tool for theory development and extension. We seek cases that innovate rather than merely illustrate: Theoretical Rigor: Case studies must offer a clear contribution to the literature, whether by extending existing theories or identifying novel phenomena. Scholarly Impact: We focus on robust scholarly inquiry. Purely didactic or classroom-focused teaching cases fall outside our scope. Bilingual Excellence Reflecting our heritage, JSBE proudly publishes original research in both English and French, fostering a unique cross-cultural dialogue across the global academic community. SCOPE: JOURNAL OF SMALL BUSINESS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP The Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship (JSBE) aims to publish innovative research that captures the complexity of today’s entrepreneurial landscape. We seek work that transcends traditional boundaries to address the social, economic, and technological changes shaping the 21st century. While we emphasize these emerging themes, JSBE remains a welcoming home for foundational research. We encourage submissions on traditional entrepreneurship
