The Journal of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy is an international journal that publishes scholarly original papers concerning Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), behavior therapy, cognitive-behavioral hypnosis, hypnotherapy, clinical and counseling psychology, psychiatry, mental health counseling, and allied areas of science and practice. The journal encourages scholarly debate amongst professionals involved in practice, theory, research, and training in areas of scholarship relevant to REBT and CBT. The Journal is particularly interested in articles defining clinical practice and research and theoretical articles with direct clinical applications. The Journal seeks theoretical discussions and literature reviews on the cognitive bases of developing and alleviating emotional, behavioral, interpersonal, personality, and addictive disorders, positive psychological functioning, interpersonal and family functioning, and career or work functioning. We consider submissions on the applications of REBT and CBT to new areas of practice and client populations. For our purposes, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a general system of psychotherapy based on cognitive and behavioral principles. It represnts an umbrella term describing many evidence-based psychological prevention interventions and treatments derived from such principles. REBT is one of the original forms of CBT originated by Albert Ellis (1913-2007). The Journal aims to increase the internal cohesion of REBT/CBT by exploring more integrative, evidence-based CBT frameworks and forms of CBT practice linked to them to gradually move the field from various “schools” to an integrative CBT framework (a comprehensive theory) and a multimodal CBT practice (derived/related to the comprehensive theory). We strive to stimulate frontier research in fundamental and applied fields in cognitive and behavioral principles to advance prevention and treatment and infuse REBT / CBT with frontier research from related fields, including biology, neuroscience, and technology. The journal encourages research that identifies the specific hypothetical constructs and techniques being measured, tested, and discussed, and the comparison of the relative influence of different cognitive processes, constructs, and techniques on emotional and behavioral disturbance. The Journal provides a timely introduction to unexplored avenues on the cutting edge of REBT and CBT research, the
