The Journal of Property Research is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to advancing scholarly understanding of property - including land, housing, commercial, alternative, emerging and indirect asset classes - and their interconnections with the built environment, as well as associated rights, institutions, markets, finance, data and technology. It welcomes rigorous, cutting-edge and original research on all aspects of property, across diverse geographic contexts, drawing on a wide range of theoretical, empirical, and methodological approaches. Interdisciplinary in scope, the journal welcomes contributions from real estate economics, investment and finance, urban planning, geography, law, public policy, sociology, environmental studies, and related fields, with explicit contribution to property research. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, commercial and residential property markets, housing affordability and policy, real estate finance and investment, property valuation, land markets and development, impact of planning and regulation on property related decisions, sustainability and climate risk, property law and institutions, PropTech and data-analytics, and comparative international research. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies across diverse institutional and market contexts are encouraged. Submissions from emerging markets, under-researched regions, and cross-national perspectives are particularly welcome. The journal publishes original research articles, critical reviews, conceptual and theoretical works, case studies, comparative studies, policy and practice commentaries, research notes, data articles, and guest-edited special issues. Applied and industry-oriented research is also welcome where it offers broader scholarly significance. Contributions should make a clear and substantive advance to property scholarship, whether through new empirical evidence, methodological innovation, theoretical development, or policy-relevant insight. JPR truly reflects research into the many dimensions of our understanding of property and property markets using rigorous research methods and insights. Peer Review Statement All manuscript submissions are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double anonymized. Papers are normally sent to at least three referees.
