JPCRR also strives to mentor nascent researchers by shepherding them through the submission process and enhancing their professional aspirations. Published online and accessible worldwide, this open access journal serves as a vehicle for promoting multidisciplinary research collaborations that embrace innovative ideas. JPCRR publishes multiple article types including, but not limited to, original research, review, quality improvement, brief report, topic synopsis, and patient-centered essay articles. Indeed, by "patient-centered,” JPCRR refers to patient-centered care, not solely patient-engaged research. JPCRR strives to follow the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding authorship, protection of research participants, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, timeliness, unbiased peer review, and editorial integrity and freedom. Submissions undergo rigorous peer review to determine their potential for publication. Published and funded by Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care, now part of the North Carolina-headquartered health system Advocate Health, JPCRR does not charge authors article processing or publication fees of any kind.
