Scope
Aims, scope and focus
The Journal of Health Monitoring is an online journal that focuses on important public health issues. The Journal is published by the Robert Koch Institute as part of the Federal Health Reporting in Germany and uses an open access format aimed at a broad (professional) public. The target groups primarily include stakeholders in health care, politics and research. The Journal aims to present scientific information in a way that is readily comprehensible. It focuses on the health and health-related behaviour of the population as well as disease prevention and the utilisation of health care services in Germany. Since April 2024, the Journal has followed a continuous publication schedule. All articles are published online in both English and German as soon as they are ready. Original articles undergo a thorough peer review. The English articles are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Scopus (since 2021) and archived at PubMed Central (accessible via PubMed search). Articles published in the Journal can be accessed free of charge. The Federal Health Reporting's Newsletter provides information about new publications.
