The Journal of Animal Science (JAS) is the leading international journal for animal science and serves as the source of new knowledge in this area. The JAS publishes peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, technical notes, perspectives, and letters to the editor. Articles published in JAS encompass a broad range of research topics in fundamental, basic, and applied aspects of animal production, behavior, genetics, health, molecular biology, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, welfare, veterinary science, zoology and preparation and utilization of animal products. Articles typically report research concerning beef cattle, companion animals, goats, horses, pigs, and sheep; however, studies involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species, and laboratory animal species that address fundamental questions and emerging technologies related to livestock and companion animal biology will be considered for publication. An official Journal of the American Society of Animal Science, continuously published since 1910, offering traditional and open access options. New from 2023: Move to Continuous Publication Model JAS has moved to a continuous publication model in 2023. This means that articles are published online as soon as they have completed the production process meaning researchers can access and cite the content faster than ever. For authors This means your article is immediately published into the issue with no more waiting in an Advance Access list. This also means that article indexing information is sent to abstracting and indexing databases on first publication and when the issue closes at the end of the year. For readers This means a simpler reading experience for you. All articles are available in one version, one location, and citable in one way. Want to make sure you never miss the latest content? To ensure you are notified periodically as more content in published to the in-progress issue, follow the below steps: Either sign in to your Oxford Academic account or if you don't have an account, it's easy to create a new account.
