Investigaciones Históricas, época moderna y contemporánea (IH) (e-ISSN 2530-6472) is a scientific journal founded in 1979 (ISSN: 0210-9425) by the, at that time, Modern and Contemporary History Department in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Valladolid (Spain). Senior to the rest of departmental History journals, IH has been annually published from its beginning by Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid. In January 2017 the Editorial Board decided to turn it into a digital journal (OJS) while maintaining the same standards as in its previous stage. IH aims at fostering historical research and discussion within the areas of Modern and Contemporary History by publishing original articles on those fields and broadening their on line national and international scope. The journal embraces a diachronic “Miscellany” of original research articles, being also possible to include “Dossiers”. Contributions, written either in Spanish or in other languages, have all gone through a double-blind peer review process before being published. Articles comprise title, abstract and keywords both in Spanish and English, as well as a summary. The inner structure of the texts follows the outline IMRyD (introduction-methodology-results-discussion). IH also includes the sections “On Archives” and “Reviews”. Starting with No.37 (2017) (e-ISSN 2530-6472) the journal will follow an open access policy: https://revistas.uva.es/index.php/invehisto/issue/view/258. The contents of former issues can be found and free access to their articles, abstracts and other sections (1979-) is available through Investigaciones Históricas, época moderna y contemporánea (Dialnet). The Editorial Board and the Editorial Advisory Board are made up of members of the University of Valladolid and a large percentage of members from other Spanish and foreign universities. 40% of the Editorial Board belong to institutions other than the University of Valladolid (the publisher); 42% women. None of the members of the Editorial Advisory Board are from the University of Valladolid, and at least half belong to foreign institutions (48% women). The members of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Advisory Board will ensure the continuing achievement of the level of quality of Investigaciones Históricas, época moderna y contemporánea. The journal does not have either article submission charges or article processing charges. Articles and reviews published in Investigaciones Históricas, época moderna y contempor
