International Review of Economics (Journal of Civil Economy) is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing economic scholarship that foregrounds the civil, social, ethical, and human-centred dimensions of economic life. The journal welcomes high-quality empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented research that enriches understanding of how economies shape and are shaped by human values, societal wellbeing, institutional norms, and historical and philosophical foundations. The journal’s scope encompasses a broad spectrum of macro- and microeconomic topics with an emphasis on contributions that engage with civil economy traditions, social welfare, and the common good, including but not limited to: Well-being, welfare economics, and quality of life analysis, including empirical and normative studies of happiness, capabilities, and social outcomes. Social interactions, trust, reciprocity, and relational goods in economic behaviour and institutional performance. Civil, ethical, and philosophical perspectives on economic theory, including law and economics, economic ethics, and the history of economic thought. Public policy and social development, such as taxation norms, gender gaps in economic support, social welfare analysis, and inclusive growth. Markets, institutions and structural change examined through lenses that integrate humanistic, ethical, and institutional considerations. Socio-economic dynamics including studies on inequality, employment, human capital, health and wellbeing in economic contexts. The journal especially encourages work that bridges disciplines, drawing on insights from behavioural science/psychology, philosophy, ethics, sociology, history, and public policy, and that advances innovative frameworks for thinking about economic problems in a socially embedded and ethically informed context. Research that fosters dialogue among academics, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the intersections between economic structures and civil society is particularly valued.
