Aims, scope and focus
International journal of computational fluid dynamics is published by Taylor and Francis Ltd. and is in Zone 4 of Engineering in the CAS Journal Ranking (2025 upgraded edition). By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics, Fluid Dynamics and Turbulent Flows and Advanced Numerical Methods in Computational Mathematics, together about 46.3% of its articles. Its main subfields are Computational Mechanics. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)
The International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics (IJCFD) publishes innovative CFD research, both fundamental and applied, in a wide variety of fields. The Journal emphasizes accurate algorithms and methodologies for 3D flow analysis and design, and those promoting a deeper understanding of the physics of 3D fluid motion. Innovative multi-disciplinary and multi-physics applications, ranging from RANS to scale-resolving methodologies, are encouraged. Parametric studies without addressing their verification or validation are not accepted. Double-anonymized peer review process Upon an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief, articles entering the IJCFD system undergo a rigorous “double-anonymized peer review process” by international experts. Guidance to authors Authors are encouraged to, as much as possible, address the following points in their paper: The order of accuracy of the numerical method; The method’s verification against closed-form, manufactured or other highly-accurate numerical solutions; The method’s validation against reliable results: experimental or other numerical solutions, clearly explaining the advantages of the proposed method; The level of grid dependence of results; The method’s iterative convergence. Short Communications The IJCFD publishes Short Communications that represent significant incremental changes or advances to an existing CFD methodology, that merit fast publication in the permanent literature; Short Communications are limited to 3000 words; Short Communications receive the same scrutiny as full articles and authors are reminded of the IJCFD stance on the use of commercial or open-source codes.

APC and open-access policy
A subscription journal in which authors can pay to publish their article open access.
| Source | APC | Fee waiver | License | Observed |
