Aims, scope and focus
The International Journal of Biophotonics and Biomedical Engineering (IJBBE) is a semiannual publication dedicated to disseminating original research papers with significant contributions in the fields of biophotonics and biomedical engineering advanced system technology. The journal welcomes original research that highlights recent advancements and state-of-the-art technologies in the following areas: Advanced Biomedical Engineering Techniques for Clinical Medicine Biomedical Spectroscopy, Microscopy, Imaging, Endoscopy Interaction of Light with Tissue and Cells Nano Biophotonics Neuro – Photonics New Drug Delivery Systems Biosensors Molecular Imaging Tissue Clearing Photon Therapy, Diagnosis and Equipment Photonics in Dentistry Quantum Biology Biomedical modelling and simulation Laser-tissue interaction and tissue engineering Applications of optical systems and technologies to biology and medicine Biomedical signal processing Artificial Organs Biomechanics Biomaterials Development and use of mobile applications in patient care artificial and hybrid (bioartificial) organs information and communication technologies in medicine bioinformatics, including genome analysis Research articles in biophotonics and biomedical engineering are published under an open-access model, allowing anyone to access the journal's content freely online without requiring a subscription.
