The International Journal for the Study of the Christian Church (IJSCC) welcomes research articles related to the contemporary life and theology of the Christian church. The journal is wide in scope and values the church’s polycentricity, reflecting global, diasporic and multilayered diversity. The journal is also hospitable to varied styles of theology—doctrinal, liturgical, pastoral, practical, and more. IJSCC is a refereed journal, which publishes commissioned and unsolicited articles. Contributions to the IJSCC take up perspectives that are contemporary, contextual, cross-cultural, ecumenical and interdisciplinary: Contemporary —oriented to the church’s present challenges, mission, problems and renewal; Contextual— situated in particular social circumstances while relating more broadly; Cross-cultural— in dialogue with difference, learning from elsewhere; Ecumenical —generous towards different ecclesial locations, receptive to others; Interdisciplinary— engaging Christian theology with insights of assorted disciplines. While not every individual contribution will cover this full range of perspectives, each issue of the journal seeks to encourage a trajectory in which these characteristics are animated. We are an international journal and consider and publish research from different Christian traditions and many places around the world. Articles are usually between 5,000 and 8,000 words, though in consultation with the editors may be longer. Some articles for the journal are commissioned; others are unsolicited. Most issues take up a theme, so several articles are broadly related. These are commonly followed by other contributions that stand alone. Please visit the journal website for any calls for papers on particular issues: https://www.tandfonline.com/rjsc20 Peer Review Policy The journal has an active and international editorial board who are involved, with others, in review processes. All articles are reviewed by the journal co-editors and then subject to double anonymized peer review: two specialists who do not know the identity of the article’s author and who do not confer with each other.
