La revista Ingeniería del Agua nació en 1994, promovida por la Fundación para el Fomento de la Ingeniería del Agua. La revista se editó trimestralmente en formato impreso hasta el año hasta 2010, dando difusión de los resultados, avances e investigaciones en el conjunto de las ramas de especialización ligadas a la ingeniería del agua, en los países Latinoamericanos, Portugal y España. En los 17 años de esta etapa previa de la revista, se publicaron 70 números y un total de 350 artículos. Fueron objetivos de aquella etapa cohesionar el mundo universitario ligado a la ingeniería del agua para contribuir a elevar su nivel científico y favorecer las redes de colaboración; incorporar a las empresas del sector como agentes tecnológicos en el binomio ciencia-empresa; generar un foro, entonces inexistente, en lengua española, donde difundir en español los avances del conocimiento en las áreas de interés de la revista; y, por último, fomentar en el campo de la ingeniería del agua un mayor acercamiento entre todos los países hispanohablantes y, por afinidad y proximidad, también con los de lengua portuguesa. Dos décadas más tarde, estos objetivos no han perdido su vigencia y tampoco su interés. En el año 2014 damos continuidad a la revista, con una nueva fase motivada por la constatada necesidad de disponer de medios de difusión de resultados científicos y técnicos en el ámbito de la ingeniería del agua, manteniendo como lenguas el español y el portugués, lo que permite tener como audiencia principal Iberoamérica y, por extensión, las comunidades hablantes hispana y portuguesa de todo el mundo. Esto es de gran interés para la difusión y discusión de resultados y avances ligados a la resolución de problemáticas existentes en estos países, llegando al ámbito científico-académico, pero también al conjunto de técnicos, analistas y tomadores de decisiones en general dentro de estas regiones. La revista repercute en el avance de conocimientos, el desarrollo de las sociedades, y el enriquecimiento del lenguaje técnico en el campo de la Ingeniería del Agua. Los temas que abarca la revista Ingeniería del Agua y sobre los que desea centrar sus publicaciones son los siguientes: Hidrología Caracterización de régimen regular y extremos, fenómenos de crecidas, modelización hidrológica, hidrología ambiental, análisis de la precipitación, hidrogeología, geoestadística, recarga de acuíferos, sobreexplotación de acuíferos… Dinámica de ríos, riberas y estuarios Cuencas y masas de agua
