in silico Plants (isP) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, online journal providing a forum for the publication of curiosity-driven, translational and applied research that uses computational and data-driven approaches to provide new insights into unresolved mechanisms and processes in plant sciences. We especially welcome and support the interdisciplinary nature of mechanistic, mathematical and data-driven modeling and prediction for the plant sciences. The journal publishes works applying a wide array of in silico approaches including computational algorithms and software, models, machine learning methods, frameworks, engines, languages and other tools that advance plant sciences. isP is committed to ensuring a fair and constructive peer-review process that not only ensures technical robustness but also prioritizes the innovative application of quantitative approaches to tackle complex topics. Submissions must demonstrate novelty, a marked improvement on existing tools, and/or apply established approaches in a novel way to understand how a system functions. Research at all levels of organization including molecular, cellular, organismal, system, population, ecosystem, regional, global and multiscale is considered. To reflect the multidisciplinary nature of isP, authors should ensure that their work is accessible to a broad audience of plant scientists isP is owned and managed by the Annals of Botany Company, a not-for-profit educational charity established to promote plant science worldwide.
