HiSTOReLo fue fundada por la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y la Asociación Colombiana de Historia Regional y Local en 2008. Es un espacio de socialización para la investigación histórica con énfasis en perspectivas locales y regionales. Asimismo, es una publicación que promueve el debate teórico, historiográfico y metodológico disciplinar. Actualmente, se rige por el Acuerdo CF-64 de 2018 (Acta 9 del 9 de octubre) de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y Económicas de la misma universidad, sede Medellín. La revista recibe y publica artículos en español, inglés y portugués que sean originales, inéditos y resultados de investigaciones que promuevan el debate teórico, historiográfico y metodológico en los estudios de historia local y regional y en la relación de esta con otras ciencias sociales, potenciando así el diálogo interdisciplinar. Las propuestas de publicación no pueden haber sido enviadas simultáneamente a otra revista. El contenido de la revista se dirige a profesionales, investigadores, estudiantes de posgrado y académicos interesados en la creación de conocimiento histórico. Conformación del Equipo editorial Dirección editorial Está conformado por un Director-Editor, profesor e investigador de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, con amplia experiencia y trayectoria académica en la temática de la revista. Su función principal es orientar y posicionar la publicación en los ámbitos editorial, académico y científico, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Es el responsable de supervisar la periodicidad y calidad de los números publicados, y actúa como la máxima autoridad en la toma de decisiones del equipo editorial. Comité editorial Está conformado por investigadores nacionales e internacionales con reconocida trayectoria científica y académica. Su función principal es asesorar y respaldar al equipo editorial en la toma de decisiones relacionadas con aspectos editoriales, éticos y procedimentales a lo largo del proceso editorial. Asimismo, contribuyen a la difusión de las actividades de la revista y al fortalecimiento de sus redes académicas. La composición del Comité editorial busca garantizar la pluralidad institucional, la diversidad temática y el compromiso ético con la calidad científica y editorial de la publicación.
