El objetivo principal de Hallazgos es consolidarse como una fuente bibliográfica confiable de alta consulta para las comunidades académicas de Colombia, latinoamérica y el mundo, a través de la difusión en acceso abierto de estudios abordados desde el espectro multidisciplinar que ha establecido. Así busca dar cuenta del estado de la investigación (sus avances, resultados, proyectos, gestión y políticas de la investigación científica, como también sus proyecciones) en temas abocados a las realidades latinoamericanas actuales y permear de manera contundente el ámbito de las ciencias sociales y las humanidades. Si bien Hallazgos publica artículos que den cuenta de las realidades de América Latina, está abierta a contribuciones que propicien escenarios de diálogo con otras regiones siempre y cuando la investigación muestre puntos conexos o reflejos para comprender dinámicas, fenómenos o realidades en el tiempo. Así se busca que los autores vayan identificando y señalando a través de Hallazgos una ventana a discusiones otras para leer a Latinoamérica. En cuanto publicación académica integrada en índices y bases de indexación, se propone cuidar la alta calidad editorial y académica de su contenido. Para ello, cuenta con la participación de prestigiosos investigadores locales, nacionales e internacionales que integran los Comités Editorial y Científico, y acude permanentemente a expertos académicos para que dictaminen sobre la calidad de los textos potencialmente publicables.
