Dergi, amacına uygun olarak, hemşirelik ve diğer sağlık disiplinleri alanında, daha önce yayınlanmamış veya yayınlanmak üzere gönderilmemiş orijinal çalışmalar yayınlamaktadır. Dergide, sistematik inceleme/meta analiz, nitel ve nicel araştırma, ölçek geliştirme çalışması, pilot araştırma, olgu sunumu ve deneysel araştırma/sistematik inceleme için geliştirilen protokoller yayınlanmaktadır. Güncel hemşirelik araştırmaları dergisi, çift kör hakemlik ilkeleri ile yayın yapan, açık erişimli ve çevrimiçi yayınlanan bir dergidir. Derginin kapsamı ve gönderim kurallarına uygun olarak dergiyegönderilen makaleler, alanında uzman en az iki hakeme değerlendirmesi için gönderilmektedir. Güncel Hemşirelik Araştırmaları Dergisi editör kurulu üyeleri, hakemlerin yorumlarını dikkate almaktadır. Dergiye gönderilen bütün makalelerle ilgili son karar baş editöre aittir.
