《光通信研究》是光通信技术和网络全国重点实验室---武汉邮电科学研究院有限公司主办的学术和技术类刊物，创刊于1975年，是国内创刊最早的光通信期刊。我刊为北大中文核心期刊，中国科技核心期刊，DOAJ、EBSCO，Ulrichsweb（乌利希期刊指南）,ICI World of Journals（哥白尼索引期刊数据库）和ICI Master List（哥白尼精选数据库）收录期刊，入选《信息通信领域高质量科技期刊分级目录》（T2级），入选《电子技术、通信技术领域高质量科技期刊分级目录》T3级，曾多次获得信息产业部、湖北省优秀期刊。 《光通信研究》是一本同行评议期刊，双月10日发行，主要刊载光通信及光电子领域具有创新性的基础研究和应用研究成果，理论和实用技术，以及与光通信、光电子相关的交叉领域的科研学术论文，反映国内外光通信、光电子领域的发展动态、研究成果、应用状况和市场信息等，并针对热点问题和前沿课题出版相关专题，开展国内外学术交流，沟通科研与产业的联系，促进光通信行业发展。
