Cilj časopisa Građevinski materijali i konstrukcije je da obezbedi međunarodni forum za komunikaciju i diseminaciju inovativnog istraživanja i njegove primene u oblasti građevinskih materijala i konstrukcija. Časopis publikuje radove iz oblasti karakterizacije, tehnologija i modeliranja građevinskih materijala. U oblasti konstrukterstva, časopis publikuje radove koji se bave razvojem metoda analize i proračuna konstrukcija kao i primenom novih materijala i tehnologija. Oblasti iz kojih se publikuju radovi u časopisu su: primena tradicionalnih i nekonvencionalnih materijala, recikliranih materijala, nanomaterijala, bio-materijala. U svim oblastima građevinarstva posebno je interesantna analiza uticaja zemljotresa, vetra, požara, eksplozija, zatim pouzdanost i integritet konstrukcija, ocena životnog ciklusa, optimizacija i monitoring konstrukcija, digitalne i eksperimentalne metode analize i proračuna konstrukcija, projektovanje zasnovano na ponašanju, inovativne tehnologije građenja, vrednosno inženjerstvo.
