„Gdańskie Studia Prawnicze” to czasopismo naukowe Wydziału Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego, które ukazuje się począwszy od 1996 roku. Misją czasopisma jest upowszechnianie osiągnięć oraz wyników badań z zakresu nauk prawnych poprzez stworzenie dla międzynarodowego środowiska naukowego przestrzeni dla debaty naukowej oraz wymiany wiedzy na temat zagadnień o istotnym i globalnym znaczeniu dla rozwoju nauki prawa. Głównymi celami czasopisma są: prezentacja najnowszych badań z zakresu nauk prawnych, jak również stworzenie przestrzeni do krytycznej analizy ich wyników, zapewnienie przepływu wiedzy pomiędzy sferą teorii i praktyki prawa poprzez stworzenie przestrzeni do współpracy dla teoretyków i praktyków oraz wspólnego rozwiązywania przez nich problemów istotnych dla nauki prawa, wspieranie rozwoju nauki prawa poprzez zapewnienie przedstawicielom środowiska naukowego (autorom i czytelnikom) udziału w międzynarodowym obiegu naukowym, integracja krajowego i międzynarodowego środowiska naukowego, w szczególności wzmocnienie współpracy międzynarodowej w zakresie badań naukowych nad prawem. Czasopismo skierowane jest zarówno do przedstawicieli środowiska naukowego, jak również osób związanych z szeroko pojętą sferą praktyki prawa, tj. osób wykonujących profesje prawnicze oraz pełniących funkcje publiczne. Począwszy od 2020 roku czasopismo publikuje numery o charakterze tematycznym, nad którymi opiekę naukową sprawują naukowcy specjalizujący się w danej dziedzinie badawczej. W ten sposób czasopismo pragnie zapewnić swoim czytelnikom dostęp do treści o aktualnej tematyce oraz wysokim poziomie merytorycznym. Plan wydawniczy, uwzględniający tematykę poszczególnych numerów, publikowany jest ze stosownym na stronie internetowej czasopisma wraz z informacją o naborze tekstów.
