Frontiers of Biogeography (FoB) is the scientific journal of The International Biogeography Society (TIBS, www.biogeography.org), a not-for-profit, scholarly organization dedicated to promotion of and public understanding of the biogeographical sciences. TIBS launched FoB to provide an independent forum for biogeographical science, with the academic standards expected of a journal operated by and for an academic society. Subject Focus: We publish papers on the study of the geographical variations of life at all levels of organization, including studies on temporal and/or evolutionary variations in any component of biodiversity if they have a geographical perspective, as well as studies at relatively small scales if they have a spatially explicit component. We will consider work on all taxa, marine, aquatic and terrestrial systems, and within any major branch of the subject, e.g. ecological biogeography, evolutionary biogeography, phylogeography, conservation biogeography, applied biogeography, island biogeography, functional biogeography, historical biogeography, and following a broad array of recognized schools of thought and methodologies. Scholarly work on the teaching of biogeography at university level may also be considered (but pre-submission enquiries are recommended to ensure suitability). We aim to be flexible on article formats, principally publishing under the headings of research articles, perspectives, reviews/syntheses and book reviews. In a nutshell: Frontiers of Biogeography is an international peer review scientific journal, publishing scholarly articles by a globally diverse community of scientists, following a rigorous and constructive independent peer review process, overseen by a distinguished editorial board. Key points: FoB offers a Gold-standard Open Access peer review journal, operated on a not-for-profit basis and published since 1 July 2024 by Pensoft, previous to which it was hosted via the eScholarship (University of California) platform. FoB is on an enhanced platform, which includes fully searchable text, social media interfaces, direct dissemination efforts to biogeographers and greatly enhanced visibility through the standard search engines. FoB publishes original research articles, perspectives, reviews/syntheses, correspondence, and book reviews. FoB is open to submissions in any major branch of biogeography, on any taxon, and following varied schools of thought within the discipline. FoB offers a rigorous, fast, flexibl
