Frontiers in Tropical Diseases is a collaborative and multidisciplinary journal publishing high-quality research on tropical diseases and other communicable and non-communicable health conditions that disproportionately affect populations in tropical regions and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The journal focuses on disease pathophysiology, prevention, control, and treatment, as well as the health system, social, economic, and environmental determinants of health in these settings. By bringing together international scholarship across disciplines central to tropical medicine and global health—including infectious diseases, parasitology, entomology, epidemiology, clinical medicine, public health, health policy, health economics, implementation science, and medical anthropology—the journal provides a coherent open-access platform addressing both classical tropical diseases and broader health priorities in vulnerable populations. Non-communicable diseases are considered within the specific epidemiological, environmental, and health system contexts of tropical and LMIC settings. Frontiers in Tropical Diseases is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics.
