FormAkademisk – forskningstidsskrift for design og designdidaktikk – publiserer open access forskning innen design og designutdanning i et innovativt og bærekraftig perspektiv. Tidsskriftet bygger på et generisk designbegrep, i betydningen menneskeskapte gjenstander og de prosessene som ligger bak, på linje med Herbert Simon, som sier at ‘Everyone designs who devises courses of action aimed at changing existing situations into preferred ones’ (Simon, 1969, p. 55). Design sees som et samlebegrep som bygger på det beste fra kunst og det beste fra håndverk.
