La Revista Estudios Sociales Contemporáneos busca: Promover la producción académica en temas referidos a las ciencias sociales. Plantear y difundir el análisis crítico, la interpretación y la generación de propuestas alternativas para abordar y enfrentar los problemas vinculados con la sociedad actual y pasada. Impulsar la interdisciplinariedad mediante el tratamiento y el enfoque de los artículos publicados. Trabajar una perspectiva latinoamericana de las temáticas en el marco de los escenarios de la globalización. La Revista Estudios Sociales Contemporáneos tiene como destinatarios a: académicos e investigadores de las ciencias sociales interesados en las problemáticas socio-productivas, política, territoriales e históricas, así como estudiantes de pre y posgrado; gobernantes y funcionarios, organizaciones no gubernamentales, consultores, comunidades y personas interesadas en la producción actual de las ciencias sociales, en sus diferentes ámbitos, en América Latina.
