Esboços: histórias em contextos globais tem como principal objetivo contribuir para o debate em torno da História Global. Nesse sentido, a revista publica artigos, entrevistas e resenhas que fomentem a reflexão em torno das abordagens transculturais, das múltiplas integrações, das histórias conectadas, transnacionais, comparadas, marítimas, do sistema mundo, dos processos em micro e macro escala, entre outros enfoques próprios da História Global. A revista tem periodicidade em fluxo contínuo e é uma iniciativa do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, classificada como A1 no Qualis Capes na área de História.
