Energija, ekonomija, ekologija je naučno-stručni časopis dominantno fokusiran na objavljivanje naučnih, stručnih i privrednih radova i informacija iz zemlje i sveta iz multidisciplinarnog energetskog sektora. Časopis ima za cilj da bude vodeća nacionalna platforma koja objavljuje recenzirane radove i koja služi kao autoritativni izvor informacija za analize, preglede i evaluacije u vezi sa energetikom. Časopis pokriva istraživanja u oblastima planiranja i eksploatacije energetskih sistema, počevši od primarnih resursa, pa preko proizvodnje svih oblika energije, zatim prenosa, odnosno transporta energije, i na kraju do tema iz oblasti distribucije i potrošnje energije. Pored toga, časopis pokriva i oblasti proizvodnje opreme i materijala, izgradnje energetskih objekata i postrojenja, i posebno oblast zaštite životne sredine, ili šire formulisano, sva istraživanja i razvoj u oblasti integralne energetike, koja su u vezi sa pitanjima energije, ekologije i ekonomije. U časopisu se takođe objavljuju istraživanja iz oblasti elektrotehnike, mašinstva, inženjerstva zaštite životne sredine i drugih inženjerskih disciplina, sa fokusom na energetsku analizu, energetsko modeliranje i predviđanje, integrisane energetske sisteme, energetsko planiranje i upravljanje proizvodnjom i potrošnjom energije. U časopisu su takođe dobrodošli prikazi istraživanja o srodnim temama, kao što su gazdovanje energijom, energetska efikasnost, snabdevanje i potrošnja električne energije, skladištenje energije, korišćenje energije u industriji, javnim i stambenim zgradama, javnim i komunalnim delatnostima, kao i o ekonomskim i političkim pitanjima, pod uslovom da su takve teme relevantne u širem energetskom kontekstu. Časopis posebnu pažnju poklanja radovima iz oblasti energetske tranzicije, odnosno iz problematike dekarbonizacije energetskog sektora sa naglaskom na širokoj primeni obnovljivih izvora energije.
