EME es una revista de investigación de periodicidad anual, dirigida a especialistas, investigadores/as y profesionales del campo de la ilustración, el arte y el diseño cuyo objetivo prioritario es servir de ámbito de reflexión sobre estas disciplinas en la sociedad, su evolución histórica o su relación con otros medios. La creciente y estrecha vinculación entre ilustración y diseño mediante técnicas, procesos o enfoques comunicativos que las aproximan e integran cada día más hace necesario ofrecer a la sociedad actual un vehículo de expresión teórica que articule los discursos y las tendencias gráficas actuales. Además, la ilustración es un lenguaje que sigue vigente en los formatos de comunicación actuales, reflejado en el creciente número de libros ilustrados publicados cada año, en la edición de recopilatorios de autores o tendencias emergentes, además de la presencia activa en la publicidad y los medios audiovisuales, por ello la intención de EME como publicación es tratar estas cuestiones centrando su interés en la relación entre la ilustración y el diseño gráfico. Esta propuesta surge en el marco del Máster en Diseño e Ilustración que se imparte en la Facultad de Bellas Artes (UPV), por lo que se hace indispensable reflexionar sobre los vínculos entre arte y diseño, discurso y práctica, percepción y reflexión, para elaborar proyectos comunicativos eficaces, actuales e innovadores. La revista articula sus contenidos en cuatro bloques o secciones:- Entrevistas- Reportajes- Textos de investigación- Creatividad y procesos Sus TEMAS de interés son variados, comenzando por los más específicos del ámbito de la ilustración, técnicas, autores y evolución del medio, teoría e historia del diseño, tipografía, lettering, autores emergentes, relación arte / diseño, cultura visual y comunicación, procesos creativos, revisión de técnicas gráficas, etc.
