"El Genio Maligno" quisiera generar incertidumbres ante lo que se nos presenta de forma natural e impensada y contra lo que consideramos la banalización interesada de la cultura y la simplificación no menos interesada de las concepciones antropológicas, psicológicas, sociales y políticas dominantes. Consideramos que la lógica del beneficio, el despliegue de los "saberes expertos", y la extensión de las supuestas ciencias "psi" no son ajenos a tal simplificación y banalización. Desde esta perspectiva, queremos contribuir a promover la discusión en torno a la generación de la cultura y la historia, incluyendo sus aspectos sociales y políticos: la educación y la enseñanza, la ciudad y los ciudadanos, la creación y la estética, y hasta la divulgación y manipulación de la Ciencia… Queremos reivindicar modestamente ese genio maligno que atormentó a Descartes y que, según nos enseñó Heráclito, mantiene a algunos despiertos cuando la mayoría duerme. Ofrecemos estas páginas a todos esos despiertos.
