Aims Ecological Management & Restoration is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing connections between the science and practice of ecological management and restoration. It aims to create a community of practice that stimulates cutting-edge research and deepens (socio-) ecological understanding to inform policy and practice. The journal promotes inclusive place-based management strategies while addressing universal environmental challenges. Scope Ecological Management and Restoration publishes features, topical opinion pieces, research reports, short notes and project summaries that are relevant to ecological practice globally. Our priority is to connect science and practice for the management and restoration of southern hemisphere and global south ecosystems. We also consider submissions that address global issues in the management of species, ecosystems and ecosystem services where the relevance for the southern hemisphere and global south is clear. To encourage in-depth insights from diverse ecosystems, articles may focus at local or regional scales. At the same time, contributions should incorporate international perspectives of science or practice, and highlight relevance to the global challenge of integrating biodiversity conservation in the face of rapid environmental change. Thematic special issues are published regularly, including those resulting from symposia and workshops. As the official ecological practitioner journal of The Ecological Society of Australia (ESA), Ecological Management and Restoration serves as a bridge between ecological research and practical restoration efforts, with a special focus on ecosystems in the southern hemisphere and global south. ESA's aim is to publish innovative research to encourage the sharing of information and experiences that enrich the understanding of ecology. The Ecological Management and Restoration Editorial Board includes experienced ecological researchers and practitioners who attract a broad international network of contributing authors and qualified reviewers.
