The Dubai Medical Journal seeks to encourage innovative approaches to medical and healthcare issues and challenges by promoting original scientific research in the fields of medicine, health sciences, nursing, pharmaceuticals, and laboratory work in addition to women’s and children’s health. As international as Dubai itself, the journal offers a global perspective, but also focuses on the particular needs and challenges faced by researchers and medical practitioners in the United Arab Emirates. The journal welcomes research on the aforementioned clinical fields, in addition to non-clinical subjects related to medicine, especially ethics and complementary medicine, together with social and cultural observations. In addition to research articles, this open access journal also publishes review articles, case reports, reviews, meta-analyses, letters, editorials, and commentaries. An educational corner will help to ensure continuous professional development and education, and the journal also offers a platform to discuss and debunk prevalent myths and controversies plaguing the region’s medical and healthcare sectors. This diamond open access journal (established in 2018) is owned by the Dubai Health Authority, and publishes four issues per year. All submissions undergo double blind peer review, our rigorous evaluation process by highly experienced specialists ensuring the quality of every article published in the Dubai Medical Journal. The journal is listed in a wide range of leading indexes, including Scopus, Embase, DOAJ, Google Scholar and the Web of Sciences Emerging Sources Citation Index (with an Impact Factor IF1.4). We welcome research from researchers, academics, and medical practitioners at every stage of their career and provide a global showcase for high impact medical research in the clinical and non-clinical fields, with a particular emphasis on the Gulf region and the United Arab Emirates. Benefits of publishing with us include quick response to submissions, worldwide visibility and inclusion in leading scientific indexes, expert editorial support, and global marketing promotions to maximise readership and citation opportunities.
