Professional Discourse & Communication (PDC) aims at publishing high-quality peer-reviewed papers on professional communication. We view professional discourse broadly as the strategic use of language and semiotic resources to organize, execute, and optimize activities in different professional spheres, including business, politics, diplomacy, law, academia, and media. PDC seeks to bridge the gap between linguistic theory and professional practice. We are particularly interested in research exploring: professional discourse, or specialized language, communication practices, interaction patterns, speech strategies and tactics typical of specific occupational fields and workplaces;Institutional communication which encompasses the strategic communication processes, messages, and verbal interactions undertaken within, between, and on behalf of institutions by individuals acting in specific institutional roles (e.g., manager, spokesperson, representative, official) rather than solely as private persons;Digital and multimodal communication, analyzing the impact of digital technologies and online platforms on contemporary professional discourse, collaboration, identity construction, communication norms, and the confluence of verbal text, image, and sound in professional media;Cognitive & neurolinguistic aspects, analyzing the cognitive mechanisms, processing strategies, and physiological underpinnings of professional communication, including experimental studies using eye-tracking or other objective metrics;Professional language development & use, exploring discourse in professional training contexts, including the teaching and acquisition of Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP), and the development of communicative competence for specialized fields. Submissions should be grounded in robust theoretical frameworks. We welcome empirical, data-driven, and experimental studies, as well as qualitative discourse analysis. We encourage methodologies drawn from functional linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, semiotics, and multimodal analysis. We particularly value studies that offer cross-cultural and cross-linguistic perspectives, stimulating scientific dialogue between researchers from different global regions. PDC’s mission is to broaden the scope of professional discourse studies by integrating functional-linguistic, social, cultural, and cognitive perspectives. We publish original research papers, empirical studies, discussion notes an
