This approach is an increasingly popular journal publication model in which completed articles are published directly into an issue online. This means individual articles are published quickly in an “in progress” issue without waiting for completion of an entire issue. This approach eliminates the need for an “Advanced Access” queue and ensures that research is made available promptly. DOTE will continue to release six issues annually, with set closing dates for each issue. The first issue’s closing date is February 28, 2025, and subsequent issues will close at the end of every second month. Benefits for authors: This means your article is immediately published into the issue with no more waiting in an Advance Access list. This also means that article indexing information is sent to abstracting and indexing databases on first publication and when the issue closes at the end of the year. Benefits for readers: This means a simpler reading experience for you. All articles are available in one version, one location, and citable in one way. Society Information The International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) was founded in 1979 with an aim to foster an international exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field. Only articles that were accepted and published are counted, not the time spent on rejected manuscripts, so this usually runs longer than a publisher's "time to first decision".
Community reports come from authors' own submissions (confidence 0.5) and are not a promise from the journal; for publisher figures, the journal's own definitions apply.
Fees & open access
APC and open-access policy
A subscription journal in which authors can pay to publish their article open access.
| Source | APC | Fee waiver | License | Observed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAlex | USD 4,113 | — | — |
A hybrid journal charges the APC only when the author chooses open access; publishing under the subscription model is usually free.
The journal's website is authoritative for fees; sources were observed at different times and each keeps its own value, without averaging.
