Informações básicas A missão do Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics é difundir os avanços científicos e tecnológicos da especialidade Ortodontia, em relação a técnicas de tratamentos e materiais de uso clínico. Anteriormente denominada Revista Dental Press de Ortodontia e Ortopedia Facial, após 14 anos de publicação ininterrupta, no começo do ano de 2010 passou a ser publicada oficialmente em língua inglesa. Continua, também, sendo veiculada em Português, tanto em formato impresso quanto eletrônico. Essa mudança objetivou atingir a adequação exigida pelos órgãos avaliadores e indexadores (CAPES), quanto à visibilidade, fator de impacto e índice de citação do periódico. Acredita-se que, por ser veiculada nos dois idiomas, esses indicadores sejam positivamente influenciados. Tudo isso, sendo uma demanda da própria comunidade científica, representada por esses órgãos avaliadores, visa ao benefício direto dos autores, pesquisadores e entidades fomentadoras da pesquisa e ciência. Assim, pretende-se propiciar maior visibilidade e relevância à produção literária contida no periódico. A abreviatura de seu título é Dental Press J. Orthod., que deve ser usada em bibliografias, notas de rodapé e em referências e legendas bibliográficas.
