Crítica Penal y Poder (en adelante, CPyP), es una publicación electrónica del Observatorio del Sistema Penal y los Derechos Humanos de la Universidad de Barcelona (en adelante, OSPDH). En este sentido, tanto su Comité de dirección, de Edición y Redacción están constituidos por miembros del OSPDH. CPyP está dirigida a investigadores, estudiantes, profesores y profesionales vinculados con las disciplinas y áreas del sistema penal, de la criminología y de las ciencias penales y sociales en general. CPyP publica artículos de fondo que se vinculan con la temática que da nombre a su título: el estudio de la llamada “cuestión criminal”, esto es, el estudio del fenómeno delictivo, de los procesos de criminalización y castigo y de sus formas, instituciones, discursos y prácticas, desde una perspectiva crítica. Así mismo, se ocupa de la dimensión del poder en un sentido amplio, de dominación política, económica y/o cultural. La revista quiere impulsar la publicación de artículos de fondo que reflexionen sobre dichos temas, especialmente desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar. En este sentido, recoge y pretende adaptar toda una larga tradición crítica que, en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales, se originó en la más pura teoría crítica de la Escuela de Frankfurt y que, más adelante, cimentó en la paulatina construcción de una Sociología del control penal. Como regla general, y coherentemente con el desarrollo esbozado, CPyP no publica artículos de dogmática jurídico-penal ni meros comentarios normativos o jurisprudenciales de corte técnico. Sin desconocer el valor que el conocimiento positivo de la norma penal pueda poseer en sí mismo, CPyP se quiere constituir como un espacio crítico dentro del orbe de las ciencias penales, donde tengan acogida, fundamentalmente, trabajos de criminología crítica, sociología jurídico penal y, en general, trabajos provenientes de las ciencias sociales (filosofía política, economía política, teoría del estado, antropología, psicología social, historia) que aborden algunos de los temas mencionados o de sus adyacentes. Con el objetivo de dar cumplimiento al mandato anterior, la revista cuenta con las siguientes secciones para la publicación de trabajos: - "Artículos de fondo”: es la sección principal de la revista y a este apartado deben enviarse los trabajos científicos que aspiren a pasar una revisión de doble ciego por pares.
