Creneida nació como una revista científica en formato electrónico sobre las letras peninsulares y de Ultramar. A diferencia de otros foros del hispanismo reinante, desprecia la contaduría de palabras y caracteres. Se define por una línea rigurosa, no por la extensión de los artículos. Cada número se divide en cuatro secciones: 1) monográfico; 2) miscelánea; 3) lecciones y maestros (que rinde homenaje a grandes figuras de la Filología); y 4) reseñas. Todos los trabajos deberán superar una evaluación por el sistema de pares ciegos, del que se encargarán los miembros del Consejo de Redacción y del Consejo Asesor. Creneida publica un número al año.
