La rivista CoSMo | Comparative Studies in Modernism raccoglie le giornate di studio del Centro Studi "Arti della Modernità", nato per iniziativa di un gruppo di studiosi di diverse università italiane appartenenti a diversi settori disciplinari (letteratura, arti, giurisprudenza, filosofia) e si propone di promuovere studi e ricerche sulle estetiche, sulle pratiche, sui generi di scrittura e sui linguaggi che configurano la nozione di modernità e che, in modo più specifico, caratterizzano la cultura del “modernismo”, le sue radici e i suoi sviluppi fino agli esiti della postmodernità e del postmodernismo, potenziando un’ autonoma area di studio e di ricerca nel settore delle "Humanities". La rivista pubblicherà inoltre numeri speciali su argomenti affini allargando il dibattito a studiosi interessati attraverso calls for papers. Abbiamo scelto di adottare una prospettiva essenzialmente comparatistica e interdisciplinare nel confronto le diverse forme dei saperi, umanistici e scientifici, fra le diverse arti e le diverse culture nazionali, e di condurre ricognizioni dei grandi movimenti avanguardistici del Modernismo e delle loro espansioni nel presente. Dal punto di vista delle estetiche e delle poetiche, verranno considerate: le questioni chiave che si pongono nel confrontare i diversi Modernismi e la Modernità. il dibattito recente sui temi posti nell’ambito della critica e della teoria letteraria. l’evoluzione dei rapporti stabilitisi fra le diverse arti (letteratura e performance, cinema, nuovi media), tra letteratura e legge, letteratura e scienze umane. Ogni numero di "Cosmo" si compone di tre sezioni: "Focus", l'argomento che caratterizza il numero; "Percorsi", saggi autonomi affini o meno all'argomento principale; "Letture", interventi su dibattiti attuali o letture originali di opere canoniche. Tre altre sezioni si possono aggiungere: "Headlines", contributi autonomi di studiosi di fama; "Poiesis", contributi creativi; "Documenti", documentazioni su eventi o questioni di interesse. Le ultime due sezioni non sono sottoposte a revisione.
